FACIAL CONTOURING

Treatment Overview

Facial contouring procedures are designed to enhance facial harmony, improve proportions, and restore youthful volume and shape to the face. These treatments modify the underlying structures of the face, such as bone, cartilage, and fat, or add volume with injectable materials.

Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)

Rhinoplasty enhances facial balance by changing the nose’s size, width, profile, tip, or nostril shape. It can also correct structural defects that cause impaired breathing, improving alignment and airflow.

Ear Reshaping (Otoplasty)

Otoplasty corrects overly large or protruding ears, creating a natural shape while bringing balance and proportion to the ears and face. It can significantly improve self-esteem by addressing ear deformities.

Volume Restoration (Fat Grafting & Dermal Fillers)

Fat grafting transfers your own fat to areas lacking volume, such as the face, hands, or buttocks, for natural-looking, long-lasting results. Dermal fillers, like hyaluronic acid, restore volume and fullness, diminishing facial lines and enhancing shallow contours.

Facial Lifting & Tightening (Facelift)

A facelift reduces the appearance of wrinkles and sagging by tightening the skin and underlying tissues. This procedure repositions the skin smoothly over the face, improving facial balance and restoring youthful contours.

Who is a Candidate for Facial Contouring?

You may be a good candidate if your facial growth is complete, you are physically healthy, and you have a positive outlook with realistic goals for improving your appearance. Non-smokers are generally preferred.

Your Consultation

During your consultation, discuss your aesthetic goals, medical history, and expectations with your surgeon. They will evaluate your facial structure, take photographs, and recommend a personalized treatment plan, including potential risks and outcomes.

Recovery and Results

Initial swelling and bruising are common after procedures, gradually subsiding over weeks to months. While immediate improvements are often visible, the full refinement of your new facial contour can take up to a year. Results are generally long-lasting, contributing to a more balanced and rejuvenated appearance.

Risks and Safety

As with any surgical procedure, facial contouring carries potential risks including anesthesia complications, bleeding, infection, poor wound healing, and scarring. Your surgeon will discuss these in detail to ensure you fully understand the procedure and its considerations.

FAQ

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

What is the main goal of facial contouring surgery?

The primary goal of facial contouring is to enhance overall facial harmony and balance by improving the proportions and shape of various facial features.

Yes, certain facial contouring procedures like rhinoplasty can correct structural defects, such as a deviated septum, to improve obstructed airways and facilitate better breathing.

While initial swelling subsides quickly, the final results of facial contouring can take several months to a year to fully refine. Many results, especially those involving structural changes, are long-lasting, though natural aging will continue.

Candidates for facial contouring typically need to have completed their facial growth, often around 5 years old for ear surgery, and generally be physically healthy adults for most other procedures.

Surgical facial contouring involves invasive procedures like rhinoplasty or facelift to permanently alter facial structures, while non-surgical methods, such as dermal fillers or fat grafting, add volume or correct minor imperfections without extensive surgery.

Surgeons carefully plan incisions to be discreetly placed, often hidden within natural creases, inside the nose, or behind the ear, aiming to minimize visible scarring after facial contouring.
